MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineering Business Analyst. This position will be Remote with up to 30% travel.

The position will support transformation initiatives within a major OEM Digital Transformation program. This position is vital to bridging business operations and technical delivery, ensuring that emerging systems and processes align with strategic goals across manufacturing, learning, and supply chain functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze and decompose mission, business, and operational problems to ensure Digital Engineering Environment (DEE) solutions address validated needs across the full system lifecycle.

  • Identify, engage, and manage stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, program management, and mission domains to capture needs, priorities, and decision authority.

  • Define and document the business, operational, and threat context to inform system requirements, solution design, and modernization strategies.

  • Elicit, analyze, and translate user needs into structured artifacts including use cases, user stories, functional requirements, and system specifications to support engineering execution.

  • Develop and refine Mission Goals and Objectives (MGOs), including defining measurable outcomes and success criteria aligned to program and customer priorities.

  • Ensure end-to-end traceability between strategic drivers, mission needs, system requirements, and proposed Digital Engineering solutions.

  • Identify and evaluate solution classes, architectures, and lifecycle concepts to support modernization of the engineering and manufacturing software stack.

  • Assess and document current-state (“as-is”) business processes, workflows, and system interactions; define future-state (“to-be”) capabilities aligned to Digital Engineering best practices.

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and operational observations to validate workflows, uncover gaps, and inform solution development.

  • Support the development of Statements of Work (SOW), Statements of Objectives (SOO), and other technical documentation required by client to acquire software, hardware, and training resources from its vendors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, systems engineers, and manufacturing stakeholders, to ensure alignment between requirements and delivered capabilities.

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, working groups, and governance forums; track decisions, risks, and action items through resolution.

  • Leverage data analysis and modern tooling (including AI-enabled platforms where applicable) to aggregate insights and support decision-making.

  • Support organizational change management (OCM) efforts to enable adoption of Digital Engineering tools, processes, and workflows.

  • Confirm organizational alignment, sponsorship, and readiness to support Digital Engineering modernization initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline

  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis, systems engineering, or technical requirements management

  • Experience eliciting and documenting requirements in complex, technical environments

  • Experience supporting process analysis, workflow modeling, and system modernization efforts

  • Ability to translate mission and operational needs into structured engineering artifacts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field

  • Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML), Business Process Model Notation (BPMN), Unified Modeling Language (UML), or similar modeling nomenclature and techniques.

  • Working knowledge of Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments

  • Experience working in Agile projects or work environments

  • Experience using advanced AI/ML prompts, AI/ML-enabled analytics, or advanced data integration tools

  • Experience supporting OEMs or engineering/manufacturing organizations

  • Familiarity with acquisition processes and contract deliverables (SOW/SOO)

  • Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives in complex or regulated environments

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery

  • Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information


The projected compensation range for this position is $89,100.00-$148,200.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
