MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Database Engineer to join our team remotely and at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC.

The Senior Database Engineer will leverage their technical expertise to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the organization’s database systems. This role supports the management of hardware and software components, optimizes performance, and ensures the integrity of sensitive data across Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the design, development, support, and maintenance of the organization’s database systems and network components.
  • Managing vendor or open-source database software while optimizing objects for enhanced performance and capacity planning.
  • Providing comprehensive technical reviews and making recommendations on technical direction and cybersecurity measures.
  • Managing hardware and software updates, monitoring performance, and overseeing server/database configurations.
  • Supervising and mentoring subordinate project and Innovation Collaborative (IIC) staff members to ensure team growth.
  • Collaborating with other Database Administrators to ensure enterprise-level database synchronization and data integrity.
  • Handling sensitive data ethically while providing high-level technical support to database users in secure facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related discipline with 9+ years of relevant experience in Information Systems.
  • Educational equivalency of a High School Diploma with 13+ years, or an Associate’s with 11+ years of experience.
  • Significant experience in position-specific database engineering or administration for at least five years.
  • Experience working across large teams to drive a technical agenda and manage complex, intertwined data flows.
  • Experience inventorying complex networks and maintaining documentation for security compliance and configuration management.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD 8140.01 IAT Level-II Certification within six months of starting.
  • Attend meetings at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Development or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment to deliver rapid database solutions.
  • Possession of a DoD 8140.01 IAT Level III Certification.
  • Relevant industry standard certifications such as Oracle, Microsoft, or AWS.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen with a current/active TS/SCI and be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility and submit to a Counterintelligence Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $117,000.00-$195,100.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
