Job Overview:

• Maintains all outside hospital properties, including parking lots, landscaped areas, sidewalks, street and driveway areas, contributing to the Hospital's image.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all exterior hospital properties in a professional and thorough manner. This position interacts with Hospital employees, administration, physicians, volunteers, contractors, vendors, regulatory officials and the community.
• Assures that the facility, equipment and systems are maintained in safe operating condition, and continually works in a safe manner, following all relevant policies, procedures and codes.
• Evaluates and repairs malfunctioning equipment and recommends replacement as necessary.
• Processes work orders and preventive maintenance orders through the system in an effective and timely manner.
• Keeps informed on code requirements and changes in procedures.
• Maintains records of work performed, location, resources utilized, and time required.
• Must be a licensed driver and able to operate a motorized sweeper, lawn tractor and mowers.
• Prunes, trims, and plants shrubs and maintains landscaped areas by spraying or fertilizing.
• Removes snow and ice, and applies chemical ice melt to keep parking lots and sidewalks clear and safe.

Education Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) , plus specialized or technical equivalent in horticulture Required

Experience Qualifications:
Two years' relevant experience in nursery and/or commercial grounds maintenance preferred
