Job Overview:
Performs routine and specific specialized diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail under direction of a radiologist. Assists physicians with interventional ultrasound-guided procedures.
Job Duties:
- Performs diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures.
- Performs quality control and quality assessment.
- Assists physicians with interventional procedures.
- Ensures the day to day operations run smoothly and issues are reported promptly.
- Participates in staff in-service program.
- Help schedules patients.
- Keeps area supplied and clean.
- Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
- Assists clerical area when needed.
- Perform HIS/RIS/PACS functions.
- Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense.
- Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
- Other job duties as needed, including diagnostic images if sonographer has ARRT license
Licenses and Certifications:
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required
- BLS CPR certification for healthcare providers Required
- License renewal must occur within two weeks of expiration date Required
- Employee must be RVT and/or RVS and RDMS registry eligible upon hire. Employee will be required to obtain RVT and/or RVS and RDMS within first 18 months.
- Revocation or inability to maintain licensure and/or registration may result in termination
