Job Overview:

The Nursing Department Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and supervision of nursing services within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (CCL), Non-invasive Cardiology, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Vascular Access departments. The manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care, optimize clinical operations, and oversee nursing staff performance. This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, a strong understanding of cardiology nursing practices, and a focus on improving patient outcomes and departmental efficiencies.

Leadership & Staff Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of nursing professionals across the CCL, Non-invasive Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab, and Vascular Access departments.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and professional development activities.
  • Recruit, train, and retain qualified nursing staff, ensuring proper staffing levels to meet patient care needs.
  • Provide guidance, support, and education to nursing staff on best practices and protocols in cardiology nursing.

Clinical Operations & Patient Care:

  • Ensure the delivery of evidence-based nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures in CCL, non-invasive testing, cardiac rehabilitation, and vascular access procedures.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of nursing protocols, policies, and procedures in alignment with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure optimal patient care in the preparation, procedure, and recovery phases of CCL interventions, non-invasive tests, and rehab programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to plan, coordinate, and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, ensuring timely and effective interventions for any complications or changes in patient condition.

Quality Improvement & Compliance:

  • Continuously assess and monitor departmental processes and workflows to improve patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital accreditation standards.
  • Review and implement policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze patient care data and outcomes, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement.

Financial Management & Budgeting:

  • Assist with departmental budgeting, ensuring the appropriate allocation of resources for staffing, equipment, and materials.
  • Track and manage expenses, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising patient care.
  • Ensure effective management of the department's financial resources, participating in cost-saving initiatives when appropriate.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with hospital administration, physicians, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient care delivery.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and positive relationships among staff and stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the seamless flow of patient information and care coordination.

Patient & Family Education:

  • Ensure that patients and their families receive appropriate education regarding cardiac procedures, rehabilitation programs, and vascular access management.
  • Lead the development of patient education materials and resources related to non-invasive cardiology, cardiac rehab, and vascular access.
