Job overview:
You would be responsible for providing direct patient care. Our nursing staff demonstrates their knowledge, critical thinking, and judgement and integrates the use of evidenced- based outcomes for nursing practice. Services provided by the RN include supervising care delivered, collaborating with other disciplines, coordination plans of care, and providing education for patients/families. Responsible for providing high quality care nursing to patients undergoing same-day surgical procedures. Qualified applicants should have strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; effective communication and patient education skills; and the ability to work in a fast-paced team orientation environment. This role includes pre-operative preparation, and Phase II post-anesthesia recovery. The nurse works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process. Pre-operative duties include: assessing and preparing patients for surgery (vital signs, medical history, consent verification); education patients and families on procedure expectations and post-operative care; and verifying surgical and anesthesia orders, lab work, and medication history. Post-operative duties include; monitoring patients in Phase II recovery for stability and pain management; education patients and caregivers on discharge instructions and follow-up care; and documenting nursing assessments and interventions accurately and promptly.
Required:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) in Indiana or other compact licensure state

BSN
