Job Title: K-6 Physical Education Teacher
Location: Parkview Elementary
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary Physical Education (PE) Teacher to promote physical activity, healthy habits, and motor skill development in young students. The ideal candidate will create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong fitness.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver age-appropriate PE lessons that align with state and national physical education standards.

Teach students fundamental motor skills, movement patterns, rules of games/sports, and fitness concepts.

Organize and supervise physical activities, games, and fitness routines that promote skill development and overall health.

Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages participation and inclusion of all students.

Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills, fitness, effort, and behavior.

Promote healthy lifestyle choices and educate students about physical well-being.

Ensure the safe use and proper maintenance of all physical education equipment and facilities.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, staff, and parents to support student development and school-wide wellness initiatives.

Participate in school events, professional development, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field.

Valid teaching certification in Physical Education (state-specific).

Knowledge of child development and best practices in elementary PE instruction.
Preferred:
-
CPR/First Aid certification.
-
Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school or recreational setting.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Working Conditions:

Ability to work both indoors (gymnasium) and outdoors (playground/field).

Must be able to demonstrate physical activities and lift/move equipment as needed.

Flexible to adapt lessons based on student needs and available resources.
