Position Summary
Paragon Force, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-focused Configuration Manager to support government and commercial programs requiring disciplined configuration control, technical accuracy, and lifecycle accountability. This position is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving configuration management (CM) processes for hardware, software, technical data, drawings, and program documentation.
The Configuration Manager partners closely with engineering, quality, operations, program management, and customer stakeholders to ensure products and systems are properly identified, documented, controlled, and delivered in accordance with contract requirements and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company configuration management policies, procedures, and work instructions aligned with customer and contract requirements.
- Manage configuration identification activities including part numbers, drawing revisions, naming conventions, baselines, bills of material, and document control.
- Administer formal change control processes including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), deviation requests, and approval workflows.
- Maintain accurate records within configuration systems and repositories such as Windchill, iPDM, SharePoint, or customer-required databases.
- Coordinate release of drawings, technical data packages, manuals, software versions, and production documentation to internal teams and customers.
- Perform configuration audits, baseline reviews, and status accounting to verify accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure released configurations match approved production builds and customer requirements.
- Support proposal, transition, and startup efforts by establishing CM controls for new programs.
- Prepare reports and metrics related to open changes, document status, baseline updates, and audit findings.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen configuration discipline across the organization.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on document control, revision practices, and change management processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles across product and program lifecycles.
- Experience with PLM/PDM tools such as Windchill, iPDM, or similar systems.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and document accuracy.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, and revision structures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and administrative teams.
- Experience supporting change control boards, release management, or document control functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active U.S. Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense, Navy, Army, Air Force, or other federal programs.
- Familiarity with government technical data requirements, CDRLs, SDRLs, and contract deliverables.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering services, aerospace, defense, or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and audit practices.
- Experience supporting production environments, prototype builds, or depot-level maintenance programs.
- Prior leadership of CM process improvements or enterprise data cleanup initiatives.
