Paragon Force, Inc. is currently searching for a talented and eager Technical Writer to join our team and help support NSWC Crane. In this position, the employee will work closely with other Technical Writers, Quality Specialists, and SME’s as well as directly with the customer.

We are searching for driven individuals that are experienced in XML authoring, Arbortext software, proof-reading, and Military Standards. This position requires quick turnarounds and flexibility with changing deadlines.

Duties

• The Technical Writer will use a structured authoring software to create technical documentation that follows and maintains a strict set of formatting rules, or standard. Creating manuals, reports, briefs, instruction books, work instructions, and other related technical publications for the DoD concerning work methods procedures and installation information.
• The Technical Writer will use XML markup language to define the structured content with predetermined tags to ensure content follows the MIL-STD.
• The Technical Writer will manage and maintain the integrity of XML and published content on SharePoint and a Share drive.
• The Technical Writer will perform quality audits as well as proofread materials generated within the team.
• The Technical Writer will be involved in working groups reviewing content and will be asked for input and suggestions for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field 2+ years work related experience in technical writing/editing. Additional experience in lieu of degree (6+ years of technical writing/editing experience).
• XML, HTML or SGML experience preferred
• Military publication standards experience preferred
• PTC Arbortext-Editor, Office365, Microsoft Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. preferred
• Able to obtain a Secret Clearance (+ if a clearance is already active).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.50 per hour
