Position Summary
Paragon Force, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager II to support environmental operations. This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operational activities, supporting project execution, managing resources, and ensuring efficient delivery of environmental services in accordance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company policies.
The Operations Manager II serves as a key liaison between project staff, supervisors, and management, assisting with operational planning, workforce coordination, budget monitoring, and process improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will help ensure environmental projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within established schedules and budgets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the management and coordination of operational activities associated with environmental programs and projects.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational procedures, policies, and best practices.
- Review, analyze, and prepare reports, records, schedules, and operational metrics to support management decision-making.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to ensure efficient execution of environmental services and project requirements.
- Assign and monitor work activities, establish priorities, and assist supervisors in meeting project milestones and deadlines.
- Support project planning efforts by gathering operational data and assisting with resource forecasting and scheduling.
- Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate activities between environmental staff, laboratory personnel, field teams, subcontractors, and customer representatives.
- Assist with the development and management of departmental budgets, cost tracking, and resource utilization.
- Monitor operational costs and recommend corrective actions when necessary to achieve financial objectives.
- Support workforce development by ensuring employees receive required training and maintain applicable certifications.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management activities as assigned.
- Participate in customer meetings, program reviews, audits, and inspections.
- Prepare and deliver operational status reports to management and customers as required.
- Support quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in operations management, project coordination, program administration, or a related operational role.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience developing schedules, tracking deliverables, and coordinating resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and interact professionally with government customers and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense, federal government, or environmental services contracts.
- Familiarity with environmental compliance, remediation, hazardous waste management, or environmental monitoring programs.
- Experience with project management tools, scheduling software, or operational reporting systems.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and resource planning practices.
- OSHA HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in office, laboratory, industrial, and field environments.
- Ability to travel occasionally in support of customer and project requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting project sites.
