Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Air Force, Space and Intelligence Business Group (AFSI) of SAIC is seeking a ServiceNow Software Engineer to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation’s information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

The ServiceNow Engineer will play a pivotal role in the DCSA AT client engagement by leveraging their expertise in the ServiceNow platform to enhance, optimize, and automate IT service management and business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ServiceNow development, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of ITIL processes. This psotion is remote with very limited travel.

Key Responsibilities:

ServiceNow Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions, including but not limited to modules such as IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT Business Management (ITBM).
  • Customize ServiceNow applications and facilitate configuration management of all implemented changes.
  • Develop workflows, scripts, business rules, UI policies, UI actions, client scripts, and notifications.

Integration and Automation:

  • Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs and integration hub.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.

Technical Leadership:

  • Serve as a technical advisor and lead on ServiceNow projects and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior developers and team members.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, and end-users, to gather and understand requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development tasks.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough testing of developed solutions to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and defects promptly.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
  • Generate and present reports on system performance, usage metrics, and project status.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

It is required that the ServiceNow Software Engineer have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and administration.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow platform capabilities and tools, including scripting, customization, and configuration.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the client.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications.
  • Prior experience working with government or defense clients.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
