Description

SAIC is seeking a Design Team Manager to join our team of professionals executing complex systems integration efforts for the Navy in Middletown, RI.

Work will be performed remotely.

Candidate will follow scope of work detailed below:

  • This work primarily entails design and development of advanced solutions for unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. These solutions may include pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-mechanical devices, mechanical systems, electrical systems and other technical functional areas.

  • A subset of the developed solutions will be comprised of electro-mechanical systems validated in a systems integration laboratory (SIL) and on operational systems that will require embedded system design awareness.

  • Develops design solutions and manufacturing techniques for complex Naval structures. Performs design of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and packages. Collaborates with Engineering for completion of model and drawing technical data package.

  • Possesses knowledge of GD&T application in accordance with ASME standards.

  • Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work checked through consultation and agreement with peers rather than by formal review of supervisor.

  • Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates and eleven (11) years or more experience, Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience.

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Possesses knowledge of GD&T application in accordance with ASME standards.

  • Must have the ability to obtain SECRET level clearance.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
