SAIC is looking for a Logistics Analyst to support in 20F3016 contract at Crane, Indiana. Providing procurement execution support for GBAD (MADIS / L-MADIS) efforts, focusing on translating approved requirements and Bills of Materials (BOMs) into timely and compliant purchase actions. This role is execution-focused and intended to accelerate procurement throughput while coordinating with existing logistics, engineering, and contracting functions.

This position will need someone who is highly motivated with the ability to work individually and with a contractor based team.

Job Responsibilities:

Procurement Execution (Primary Function)

  • Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between points of origin through customer placement to meet customer requirements
  • Execute procurement actions in support of approved BOMs and project requirements
  • Procurement functions encompass research, buying and tracking progress of purchases, using current database or generated excel spreadsheets
  • Process purchases through appropriate acquisition pathways (e.g., DLA, commercial vendors, existing contract vehicles)
  • Track procurement status and maintain visibility of all active purchase actions
  • Assist in converting BOMs into executable procurement packages
  • Identify long-lead items and procurement risks early
  • Coordinate with engineering only as needed to clarify requirements impacting procurement (not design ownership)
  • Develops raw material requirements, scheduling requirements from engineering specifications, production schedules, and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production
  • Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes
  • Logistics functions encompass maintenance, supply, transportation, and logistics plans
  • Support all stages of procurement process and provide weekly procurement updates

Stakeholder Coordination & Reporting

  • Provide regular updates on procurement status, risks, and blockers
  • Support communication between project team, contracting, and vendors
  • Participate in recurring sync meetings (as required) to ensure alignment

Market Research & Vendor Coordination

  • Conduct targeted market research to identify viable vendors and sourcing options
  • Obtain quotes and lead times to support procurement decisions
  • Evaluate procurement options across multiple pathways (not limited to DLA)

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree and 3 or more years’ experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Coordinate order tracking of procurements, hardware, machine shop, and cable equipment shipments
  • Experience with researching parts for procurement using drawings, assembly instructions, and excel documents to find the best price and lead time available for products for government systems
  • Work in team environment
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets and inventory tracking. Understanding Microsoft applications is a plus
  • Support receiving or similar assets, scheduling required maintenance, monitoring the maintenance and return of assets to the appropriate activity using current shipping standards, Form DD1149, Form DD1348s
  • Must possess good oral and written communications skills and be familiar with PC Microsoft 365 applications
  • Position requires good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift, up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to work in a busy environment
