SAIC is looking for a Drafter/CAD Operator. This position will provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane code GXT. In this role you will support a team creating/updating Technical Data Packages using AutoCad CAD Software, Architectural background preferred with knowledge of using AutoCad with view-ports using the model tab, layout out tab, scaling and layers. Have the ability to communicate effectively and able to complete professional correspondence.

JOB DUTIES:
- Creates and modifies detailed drawings using AutoCAD CAD Software
- Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design
- Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation
- Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include,
but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design
development and verification/validation of first article pieces

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- An AS or BS Degree in related field; Or, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of
related experience.
-Experienced with AutoCAD
- Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted
manufacturing processes and ISO procedures
- Understand Architectural Layouts and procedures
- Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas
- Ability to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction

Desired Experience:
- Knowledge of ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000 an associated Drawing Standards, Technical Data
Packages, and Military Standards.
