Description
SAIC is seeking an Electronics Technician to join our team at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane in Crane, IN.
Job Duties:
- Provide maintenance and technical support required for a miliary installation. This includes modifications, maintenance, repair, and installation of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and security devices in buildings and storage magazines located at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane.
- This includes the installation of CCTV security systems, digital video surveillance systems, various intrusion detection systems, access control systems, and related sensors and devices such as balanced magnetic switches, surveillance cameras, and infrared motion detectors as required by NSWC Crane Security Office.
- Provide yearly maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, firmware updates. and repair of the on-site intrusion detection and access control systems, including Digital Video Surveillance Systems.
- Facilitate customer changes, coordinate site review and training, and complete customer relations follow-ups.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SECURITY CLEARANCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least four (4) years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Must have some design experience or, at a minimum, a strong ability to interpret and modify existing designs.
- Ability to read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to understand equipment data sheets, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical manuals.
- Capable of using basic inspection and maintenance tools.
- Must be able to work in a non-controlled climate - i.e. no air conditioning.
- Must be able to work in an outdoors environment for long periods of time.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
- May be contacted after hours (on personal cell phone) for emergency response support for security issues infrequently.
- Must be willing to cross-train into other types of equipment and systems as required.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills. - Must be motivated, professional in demeanor, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated with a sense of urgency in day-to-day performance.
- Candidate will be required to follow all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur.
DESIRED:
- AMAG or Vindicator knowledge desired but not required.
