Job purpose
- This position will effectively lead, and profitably manage, all activities related to the manufacturing, assembly, converting, extrusion and decorating of injection molded products. Ensuring deliverables are achieved in a timely and efficient way, in accordance with company standards and culture. Develops and maximizes team member growth, potential, and progresses quality and productivity results.
Duties and responsibilities
- Drive and promote our “safety-first” philosophy, which includes activities and practices that ensure our team members have a safe work environment, have received appropriate training, information, tools and support to do their jobs safely.
- Practice and drive continuous improvement as a student, leader, and practitioner of TPS/Lean Management, specifically in the production and engineering. Leader over the EMS 14001 program.
- Proactively collaborate with leadership and team members to ensure clear and open communication, alignment with goals and objectives, and to proactively address progress, concerns, and questions in order to achieve outstanding results.
- Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for 3 shift / 5 day a week operation
- Develop, implement, and monitor cost control initiatives across operations, focusing on productivity, waste reduction, and margin improvement.
- Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, efficiency, quality, delivery, and financial performance.
- Translate financial data into actionable operational insights, ensuring department leaders understand cost drivers and financial impacts of operational decisions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes by providing operational input and data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry in a production management or engineering role. Injection molding experience is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience; Operations/Manufacturing Management, Business or Engineering.
- 5 to 10 + years of experience hiring, training, and leading manufacturing teams efficiently and effectively with a safety-first mentality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a polished, motivating presence.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to lead well under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong understanding, subscriber, and practitioner of TPS/Lean Manufacturing principles, and problem-solving techniques.
