Description

TRISTAR is seeking a talented and dedicated Computer Engineer to join our team for a temporary engagement of approximately 5 to 6 months in support of our NSWC Crane customer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a critical modernization project that enhances operational efficiency and automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, database migration, and cloud-based solutions, with a focus on delivering innovative and reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and migrate the existing Software Shipment Tracking and Configuration System (SSTCS) database from Microsoft Access to a cloud-based platform.

- Design and implement a modernized SSTCS version 2 (SSTCS v2) that is more automated, efficient, and user-friendly.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the new system meets operational needs.

- Develop, test, and deploy cloud-hosted applications within an unclassified cloud environment approved for NAVSEA use.

- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance throughout the migration and development process.

- Document system architecture, processes, and procedures to support ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience in database development, migration, and management, particularly with Microsoft Access and cloud platforms.

-5 to 10 years experience with software development.

-Prior Navy experience is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of cloud computing architectures, preferably within unclassified environments approved for government use.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, C#, Java, or Python.

- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, testing, and deployment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

-Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
