The Information Technology (IT) Manager is responsible for identifying, planning and implementing new or enhanced
infrastructure components for the companies Information Technology needs and recommending, offering guidance and
solutions to the executive board as need. This role provides support and supervision of department. The IT Manager will fulfill
the essential function of the companies HIPAA Security Officer.
Essential Function-Information Technology Management
• Analyzes system/user requirements, procedures, and problems to resolve problems.
• Automate processing to improve the existing computer information system or its supporting infrastructure.
• Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness, problems and solutions.
• Implements and integrates new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
• Designs, implements and maintains LAN/WAN infrastructure to support corporate functions.
• Determines IT needs and obtains equipment at best cost/utility rate.
• Provides desktop support to users when needed.
• Programs web pages, etc. as needed.
• Provides support and supervision to junior team members.
• Provides other support as needed.
Essential Function-HIPAA Security Officer
• Develop and implement the Policies and Procedures with respect to PHI required to comply with the HIPAA Security
Rule and applicable State Law that is not preempted by the HIPAA Rules.
• Shall develop and implement changes to the organization’s Security Rule Policies and Procedures as necessary and
appropriate to: comply with changes in law, address and manage risks identified, address issues found during periodic
technical and non-technical evaluations, in response to lessons learned from unauthorized uses and disclosures of
PHI, breaches or potential breaches, security incidents, or changed circumstances.
• May consult as appropriate with Legal Counsel and with other expert advisors concerning development and
implementation of the Policies and Procedures.
• Shall collaborate with the HIPAA Privacy Officer to ensure that Security Rule Policies and Procedures are coordinated
with Privacy and Breach Notification Rule Policies and Procedures in a comprehensive HIPAA Compliance Program.
• Collaborate with the HIPAA Privacy Officer to ensure that Williams Bros conducts a Risk Analysis and revises its Risk
Management Plan regularly.
• Shall ensure that employees receive documented periodic training concerning Williams Bros’ Security Rule policies
and procedures appropriate to perform their role-based duties related to PHI. Training shall be in collaboration with
the HIPAA Privacy Officer and coordinated with Privacy and Breach Notification employee training.
Qualifications:
Education: A.S. Degree or equivalent or 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Experience/Knowledge:
• Strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge with both hardware and software service environments.
• Knowledge of Firewalls, LAN’s and proxy servers.
• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to establish teamwork and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, and employees.
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently and the ability to multitask.
• Dedication to adhere to the current and ongoing company policies and compliance.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level
in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
This position requires long periods of standing. Sitting, climbing stairs, walking, and/or driving a vehicle are also required. This
position also requires the ability to frequently lift or move up to 50lbs.
Office Hours: M-F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
